A NAME, THEN THE WORK : HANA — FLOWER
In November 2021, during a group project at MIAGE Sophia Antipolis, Mike chose Hana, the Japanese word for “flower.” He and Sébastien kept it for the studio they imagined. In September 2022, the idea became documents, sketches, code, repositories, calls, and experiments carried out beside their studies. The company was registered in January 2023, but the studio already existed in the hours they gave to building it.
FIRST WORLDS : PUSH — LEARNING TO MAKE A WORLD PLAYABLE
Push was an obstacle race inspired by Fall Guys: platforms, mechanisms, bubbles, clouds, and floating islands. It was brief, but it posed the studio’s recurring question: how does a drawing become an experience? Sketches had to become models, models had to move, and several players had to share the same readable space.
FIRST WORLDS : SKYNET — MECHAS AND MULTIPLAYER
Skynet shifted toward a cyberpunk multiplayer arena in futuristic Japan: mechas, classes, gadgets, weapons, capture the flag, battle royale, and PvE. Gabriel’s mechanical models and rigging tests made the direction visible. For Sébastien and Mike, it raised the difficulty of mobile, networking, services, data, interfaces, and real-time rules.
